I am NOVIA?! an Indonesian Pop Star 19 Nov 2017

Kumaha damang? reporting live in JAKARTA UTARA.

Sister Ratu this week has been living a life parallel to Lizzie McGuire. If you are familiar with the Lizzie McGuire movie (in which, you should be), Lizzie goes to Italy and gets mistaken as an Italian pop star, and ends up running away with an Italian pop star, and becomes an Italian pop star. Well, this week, Sister Ratu is contacting at a national monument called Monas, and a man comes up to her and tells her she is "Novia Kalopaking".. aka AN INDONESIAN POP STAR HAHAHAH. It doesn't stop there, Sister Ratu is eating ayam bakar for dinner, and another person tells her that she is "Novia Kalopaking". She ends up running away with an Indonesian pop star, and ends up performing at the Asian Games! That last part didn't happen, but it actually made me laugh/cry that I have been mistaken as an Indonesian Pop star here in Jakarta hahahhahahaha.

ANYWAYS- on to some important things, and not so important things.
Not So Important Things
1) I am mastering the technique of contacting in under a minute
2) I am mastering the technique of peeling a mango in under 15 minutes (work in progress)
3) I am mastering the technique of pancake cooking in rice cookers (gas is out :/ )

Important things
1) I had my first Jamba Juice last week, the first in 11 months (MANGO A GO GO!!)
2) We got 5 new investigators this week-  A MIRACLE CUZ LAST WEEK WE HAD NO ONE
3) We are working really really really hard and relying on the Lord more than everrr

Sabtu Malam Mukjizat
My homecomp, Sister Fuglsang, and I are working real hard to get to know the area, and to find the people Heavenly Father has prepared for us. We are walking down streets and gangs, talking to people, asking for referrals, loving and living and working. But still at 7 o'clock on Saturday night, we still found our selves janji-less and clueless about it all. We get to the bus halte and just stare at the map of where we can possible go. Hahahaha at this moment my brain was going at 500 different directions, and the Spirit so kindly reminded me that we just gotta pray!! so we PRAYED and Sister Fuglsang had a thought to go to Pasar Baru, and so we went, and on the bus ride there, we met a lovely lady who wants to come to church with us, and feels unsatisfied with the churches she has gone to in the past! We then met a man who asks "Are you guys Mormons?" and we had the chance to testify of our message and the truth of it.

It is amazing how something as simple as a prayer will guide you to exactly what He needs us to do. I am so so so thankful for the power of prayer, and for our Father's love for us.
THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER THATS FOR SURE AND I AM THANKFUL!

There are 100 different things I wish I can say, but if you are that interested, in the future- you may read my journal entries of my experoiences in this crazy and beautiful city.
I sure can testify of God's infinite love, and of the power and strength we obtain as we pray, ponder, and ask for His help. It is only through and with Him, that we can!

LOVE YA HAVE A STELLAR WEEK!!
XO SISTER RATU! :)

JAKARTA: contacting wonderland 12 November 2017

The last 4 days have been.. CRAZY!

Jakarta: 10 million people, packed bus ways, traffic, people everywhere!! And to think that there are 10 million people.. that means we are in charge of 10 million people to receive the gospel. A LOT OF WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE HERE!! and lemme tell ya, we are working and trying our very best as we white wash this area (aka we are both new, both do not know the area, no investigators, nothing. starting at ground 0 basically!)

First night I got here, I found myself staring up at the skyscrapers, and it started to rain. With a prayer in my heart, I knew that Heavenly Father has prepared people for us here. But the question is- for us whitewashing- WHERE ARE THEY!?!? It has been a real blessing to slowly but surely watch how the Lord has kindly guided us in our actions- although always confused and clueless cuz #barubanget, He has truly been there to help us sisters out.

People come from all over the world to JAKARTA. To work, that is. AND people speak Indo and ENGLISH HERE! I have never used so much English on the mission till Jakarta haha.
1- We met a woman from India, who was open in hearing us explain to her about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
2- We met a man from America, who met with missionaries in Ireland, grew up in Texas with our church across the street from him, saw missionaries in Solo, and has read some of the Book of Mormon.
3- We miss a stop, and end up meeting two lovely young ladies from Kupang. They accepted the Book of Mormon with eager hearts in knowing how they can come closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Talk about no such thing as coincidences. I know Heavenly Father has a divine plan! Everyone NEEDS what we have- that is, the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am thankful every single day to be in Indonesia.. and to be here in the CONTACTING WONDERLAND OF JAKARTA!!!

pray for us as we try to find new investigators this week/ get lost everyday cuz we do not know the area or the busways or anything bahahahhahahahaha

have a blessed week! the Savior loves you so much!!

DENGAN KASIH.

From Malang to JAKARTA 5 November 2017

FAM&FRIENDZ,

I am moving from the land I LOVE most, Malang, to the ibu kota, JAKARTA, and it is and will be CRAZY!!! The fourth city! The last five months in this beautiful city have filled my heart up with the some of the happiest, and hardest, and most rewarding memories, so saying good bye to the members, and my investigators, and all my food friends (hahaha LOVE THEM) have resulted in some water works aka so many tears hahahah I SUCK AT GOODBYES!! But it's all good, I know I will meet them again, and it's been a real blessing to be here! A bittersweet week that is for sure!
I head out to Jakarta on Thursday. My new comp, Sis Fuglsang, and we will be white washing. It will be quite the adventure and I am way stoked!
I will miss my beloved angotta barus- Bayu and Sister Yandel! I will miss my comp and the district fam! I will miss the cold weather and cheap food! I will miss my bike hahahah! I will miss my jus stand BFFs and my neighborhood kids! I will miss everyone here, but the Lord needs me in Jakarta!!
This is the Lord's work! Miracles happen everyday! Look for em!
dengan kasih,
Sister Ratu <3
