Hari ini, aku 20! 23 Okt 2017
Today I am 20!
comin to you LIVE
in the city of 10 suns, so they say.
SURABAYA!!
HAHA, yes, I am in Suroboyo. SHOUTOUT TO MAH SOUL SIDUH SIS NUKES for I am in her ole stomping grounds:"). I went from one of the 'coldest' cities in Indo aka MALANG to the HOTTEST city in Indo. My body is adjusting, jk I don't think I will ever adjust properly, but nevertheless, I AM LOVING IT HERE!
Soooo ya, I'm here only for three weeks as I await my beloved comp to come back from the MTC, and then we will cruise on over to Malang again. And for now, I am j chillin with my STLs aka my IBU Sister Hyde (trainer) and my most recent former homecomp Sister Rowntree! It is quite the adventure and it sure feels good to be working hard and laughing hard once again with them- but this time all together bahaha.
We have been experiencing a lot of miracles, but maybe I will start of with some classic missionary moments.
Times I wish I had a Go Pro on my forehead in attempt to explain what Surabaya missionary life is like:
- by 9:30 we have drank at least 4 bottles of water. by 10 am, I go outside for 5 minutes, and it looks like I just showered
- the traffic here. biking through the traffic and contacting while sitting in traffic has been a new favorite
- watching me/my comps almost die everyday because the motors and cars are nuts hahaha im tellin ya, angels on our left and right indeed
- when one of us were biking along, pulls over, throws up, and turns around and says "No problem. Ayo, lets get back to work!!" HAHAHA #takeapanadolandplowthroughit
- after our closing prayer with Ibu Suprihatin, I watched a cockroach crawl up her arm, on her back, and on her neck. Right when I was going to tell her, I hesitated, knowing my homecomp Sister Rowntree is deathly afraid of cockroaches.. but then Ibu noticed it, and flicked it off her, LAUNCHING the cockroach straight to Sister Rowntree, obviously it was quite a hilarious experience hahahaha I laughed forever
Miracles- our AMAZING investigators came to church this Sunday for Konfrensi Cabang, and the Spirit was so strong. Along with that, we have Kak Flora who is from Papua, and I am soooo yakin she will be the one to bring the gospel to her country. She is absolutely incredible!!
We have really amazing people we are working with here, and I am so thankful!
Thank you for the birthday wishes too! I cannot fathom the fact that today I am 20 years old. I feel like I am forever a 14 year old bahahaha.
"My God hath been my support, he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness, and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep..
He hath filled me with HIS LOVE!.. He hath heard my cry. O Lord, I have trusted in thee and I will trust in thee forever!"
2 Nefi 4 a chapter NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART! it has been a great source of comfort and joy this last year on the mission and like I said, I feel His love everyday! I feel His support everyday! And I KNOW HE IS THERE FOR YOU TOO, WITHOUT A DOUBT, HE IS THERE!

No Coincidences in God's Plan 15 Okt 2017
Gak ada kebetulan dalam rencana Allah!
FIRST- BAYU GOT BAPTIZED! My favorite 9 year old on planet Earth became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so so so thankful for him, and his example of pure love and pure intent to follow our Savior Jesus Christ. At the end of his service we sang, "Ku Mau jadi Seperti Yesus" (I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus), and I was conducting (or in other words, writing my name in cursive with my hand;)) ) and I couldn't help but feel my heart burst out in joy when I looked into the congregation to see Bayu singing with a big smile on his face, along with his family, along with the members. It was a simple reminder to me of how Heavenly Father's love for us, that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to stand as the perfect example for us, and that only through HIM, we are able to pulang to our Heavnly father's HOME for us :)
SECOND- I MET MY OM AND MY COUSINS AND TANTE THAT LIVE IN MALANG! So about two weeks ago, kakaku yg terkasih, Yesica, sent me an email saying "Hey, you know you have fam in malang right?? Here's their info. Go visit them!" AND IM LIKE "HOLD UP, WAIT WHAT?! I HAVE FAMILY HERE!?!?!" I had NO IDEA! Anywho, on Tuesday right after DTM, homecomp and I bike on over to Universitas Negeri Malang. My Om is a director there.. and I show up and to reference Buddy the Elf again.. I began to sing.. "I',m here... with my Om (Uncle) and we've never met.. and he wants me to sing him a song.. and I'm Indonesian.. but I moved to America.. so I'm here now, I found you.. Uncle.. AND, GUESS WHAT, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!"
Hahaha. No, I actually didn't sing that. But YOU KNOW I THOUGHT IT!
Anyways- We meet and we are freaking out! Smiling and crying! It was way happy! He continues to tell me stories of my dad and my dad's twin (Merchi and Maxy) and how my Om used to take care of them when he was 7, and they were born. They grew up together in Bali, and did everything together. SO CRAZY! And then, on SUNDAY, I had the opportunity to meet the rest of the fam. Sepupus & all! We also had the chance to introduce the Church of Jesus Christ to them, and as I bore testimony of God's Plan and how this is clearly no coincidence, I felt the Spirit testify so strongly to me, that indeed, His Plan is in action, and that one day, my family will be able to live together forever with our Father in Heaven. My Om gave me a huge fam tree rundown too. LEGIT! So sweet to get to know my Bali roots hahaha!
There's a talk from Conference- "Divine Design" By Elder Rasband. And it just made me think of how God truly is in the very details of our lives. There is no such thing as 'coincidence' in His Plan. It clearly was not a coincidence that I happened to be assigned to Malang and happened to have family here I haven't met yet either. In his words, "What are God's miracles that remind you that He is close, saying "i am right here?" It is clear that the Lord's hand is in our lives, and I invite you all to look for those miracles- our "divine coincidences"- that testify to us of His knowlege of all things from the start till the eternities! He is here!
This is His work! I love Indonesia!

OK WOW! I do not know where to start. Hahahaha. this week was CRAZY! Filled with miracles, that's for sure. Moving, and baptism, and moving again- comp to phillipines and me to surabaya!

OKTOBER!! 8 Oktober 2017
A GREAT MONTH BECAUSE..
1- General Conference! ya dongz! Heart is filled to the brim w/joy :)
2- rainy season which means I gotta whip out my rain poncho
3- I will be one year older in approxiametly 13 days ;) #20 #thriving
The first half of the week, Sister Mentari and I were having a realllllly difficult time figuring out how to get new investigators. Because everyone and their Ibu was rejecting us.. but the Lord blessed us with some incredible people the last half of the week, that have so much potential, and actual interest in the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Miracles in MALANG!
I found out I have family that live IN MALANG that I am going to find TOMORROW so I will keep ya updated on that. He is a professor at Universitas negeri Malang, ternyata, He is my Dad's cousin. SO LEGIT! I am WAY stoked out of my mind, and I am praying that their hearts will be open to our message. When I found out, I felt like I am embarking on the same journey as Buddy the Elf- trying to find a relative that doesn't know you/haven't met them yet HAHA. YEEEAAHHYAAAH!! Saya di bawah!
and maaf ya, shortie this week, but know that I love you all! I am so thankful for you all and I feel your prayers! Sure do need em :)
